Tenor who can Make a Grown Man Cry

Fred Martinez / Conservative Monitor -- Irish tenor Mark Forest’s voice has been acclaimed internationally. The Catholic Review said of his voice, “[It] can make a grown man cry.”

The singer’s audiences have included world leaders such as Pope John Paul II as well as Bill Clinton. His tour arrives at Our Lady of Peace parish on March 28 at 7:30 PM

Despite the USA Today’s reported sighting of him shaking hands with then President Clinton after a Capital Hill engagement, he is pro-life.

The tenor founded the Faith and Family Foundation, which promotes sanctity of human life at every stage. He began the foundation after his third son, Francesco, died five days after being born.

“A little boy loved us deeply, and we knew that love and we had it for a short time- that’s not sad.” Forest said, “What’s sad is playing a concert in Florida and meeting a retired executive who worked 40 years and paid no attention to his family, and now he can’t get back that time… You’d be amazed how often I hear that story.”

For that reason the tenor confines his work to four days a week and doesn’t seek parts in touring companies of Broadway shows.

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Forest’s music, whether Broadway inspirational melodies or classic Irish hymns are sang to stir deeper faith and family life. Included in the entertainment are wine& cheese, pretzels& beer, coffee and shamrock cookies. For tickets call 408-980-1299.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, which is located at 2800 Mission College Blvd. near the Great America Theme park.
