Psychologist Claims the United States Media is “A Monster”

Fred Martinez / Conservative Monitor -- Fr Benedict Groeschel, the internationally known psychologist and author of the new controversial book “From Scandal to Hope,” will appear at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Santa Clara on January 28.

The psychologist in his recent book said the United States media is “a monster” and “the last question that is asked [by the media] is ‘What is truth?’”

The book reports that James Clifford, a former reporter for the United Press Associated and Associated Press, “reveals this dishonesty of the media who are obsessed with the scandal in the Catholic Church while ignoring the same problems in public education.”

Groeschel asserts that over ninety percent of the “media establishment” favor abortion-on-demand and it’s “goal is to destroy any public influence that the Catholic Church or its bishops might have.”

According to a recent Marian Helper magazine article, the psychologist admitted even though the media has been “exaggerating and sensationalizing” the scandal, the U.S. bishops still bear a “responsibility in dealing with this crisis...[t]hey [the bishops] sought the advice of lawyers, psychiatrists, and psychologists who tried to help, but who often failed to realize that it takes more than therapy and money to overcome serious sin.”

The author of “From Scandal to Hope” claims that the scandal has once again revealed that the Catholic Church is in need of reform.

Capuchin Franciscan Groeschel in his book said that St. Francis of Assisi is the model of how reform can change “scandal to hope.” He said that the modern church could reform just as St. Francis “rebuild” the medieval church, which was “falling into ruin.”

Groeschel who is best know for his regular guest appearances on the Eternal Word Television Network will give the talk entitled “Hope a Necessary Virtue for Our Time” at Our Lady of Peace Parish in Santa Clara on January 28 from 10AM to 3PM.
