Top Ten Conservative Books!
by W. J. Rayment
The staff at the Conservative Monitor in conjunction with the Conservative Bookstore put together a list of the most influential conservative books ever written.
Of course, this has proved a fairly controversial list as conservatives all have their favorites. We left out many obscure, yet readable and persuasive works such as "Cousin Mercedes and the White Russian" by A.G. Heinsohn, Jr. or "Travels of a Capitalist Lackey" by Fred Basnet.
We encourage our readers who agree or disagree with our judgment to please forward their responses via our contact form.
Here they are, not necessarily in order of importance: Drum roll, please.
Democracy in America, by Alexis de Tocqueville.
Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand
The Road to Serfdom, by von Heyek
The Meditations, by Marcus Aurelius
The Federalist Papers, by Hamilton, Madison and Jay
Vision of the Anointed, by Thomas Sowell
The Writings of Burke, by Edmund Burke
Free to Choose, by Milton Friedman
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovitch, by Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Up From Liberalism, by William F. Buckley
