DDD

WJRayment | 04 November, 2005 15:35

The other day my son was diagnosed with DDD.  He showed all the symptoms, willful desire to have his own way, screaming, ranting, and extreme disobedience.  He did not want to go to bed at the appropriate time. That was when I was sure he had Discipline Deficit Disorder (DDD).  This is a terrible affliction that seems to affect children of all ages and can only be cured with a dose of discipline, as that is what they are deficient in.

What do you do when a child gets completely out of control?  Teach him self-control.  In this case it was quite dificult.  It took at least 10 minutes of intensive reasoning and the swift application of a single swat on the hind end.  The effect was immediate and the boy's condition went into remission.  It is a well-known fact that DDD lasts in a child until a sufficient degree of discipline is given.  This, of course, can only be applied in small doses, but is most effective when administered before the age of eight.  After the age of eight it gets more and more difficult and if discipline is not applied until the child reaches adult age then the case is generally hopeless.

So if you have a child with DDD, make sure you apply the appropriate medicine in moderate doses at appropriate intervals, usually coinciding with fits, whining and general wailing.  In extreme circumstances consult a grandparent who will likely have timely and appropriate advice.
