Alexander Hamilton, American, by Richard Brookhiser. This flowing, readable and entertaining work fills a huge gap in modern biography. Perhaps because of his strong conservative ideals Hamilton has been snubbed by recent scholars. Even so, Hamilton was one of the most eminent of our founding fathers.
